The lush green campus houses Administrative building, Eighteen Departments, Research Projects, Clinical Complex, excellent Instructional Farm and a Library in altogether 65 acres of land. All the Departments have well established Under Graduate and Post Graduate Laboratories as well as direct access to internet. Internet connections provides excellent opportunity to the staff and students for communication and access to scientific information from the world over. Air conditioner class rooms, a separate examination hall, two seminar halls and a conference room are valuable assets for class room teaching and other academic activities. Use of multimedia is a common practice for effective communication with the faculty making use of multimedia rendering our class room teaching and communication extremely effective and invaluable. The Clinical Complex of the college attracts more than 18000 animals and birds for treatment every year. The Indoor Patient Home has facility to accommodate large as well as small animals and birds including isolation ward for contagious diseases. Every year more than 6000 clinical samples processed and 4500 animals and bird carcass post mortem for the diagnosis of diseases.

Hostel Information

The College of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry affiliated to Kamdhenu University, Anand has excellent hostel facilities for boys and girls enrolled in undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate degree programs.

The hostels provide an ideal ambience to make the residents feel at home. The calm and serene atmosphere as well as the scenic campus also provides a conducive environment for learning. The UG and PG Boys’ Hostels as well as the UG and PG Girls’ Hostels are ragging free premises, monitored with CCTV cameras and have 24 hrs. security facilities. There is an office cum reception room for better administration of the hostels. It also serves as a comfortable meeting area for the parents and the inmates of the hostels.

The hostel rooms allotted to the students are well ventilated and spacious with beds, tables, chairs, cupboards, fans, and proper lighting facilities. The hostels also have a Hall that has gym equipments and television where the students can exercise and spend their leisure time. The students residing in the hostels are also provided with indoor as well as outdoor game facilities. Twenty-four hours free Wi-Fi facility is also available to all the UG and PG students residing in the hostels. Reading rooms are available in the hostels where the students can read with ease and comfort.

All the hostels have roof - top solar heating system that facilitates 24 hours hot water supply to the students. RO Systems are installed in all hostels which provides clean drinking water to the students. Each hostel has a well-equipped mess with very good dining facilities that provides nutritious food to the residents of the hostel. Fire extinguishers are installed, and first aid boxes are also available in all the hostels. In case of emergencies, adequate facilities of medical attention are available at the university’s health center.

The Boys’ hostels have a self-run mess (co-operative mess) while the common mess between the UG and PG Girls’ hostel is being managed on contract basis.

Transport facilities are readily available to transport students to the University Health Center or hospital during any medical emergency. The hostels also have guest rooms accommodate a visiting parent (Father for boys and Mother for Girls) and other visitors (students and interns from other colleges). Parking facilities are also available in all the hostels to park vehicles with ease. All the hostel premises are regularly cleaned and well maintained by the dedicated hostel staff. Each hostel has separate assistant rector to look after students.

Resident Warden of the Girls’ hostels residing in the Warden Quarter close to the Girls’ Hostels is available 24 hours and takes care of all the needs of the UG and PG Girl students. Warden is available round-the-clock and takes care of the needs of girl students.

The college is comprised of a total seven hostels to provide accommodations for undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral students. Hostel accommodations are separate for boys’ and girls’ students. Some of the available hostel facilities are used to accommodate internee students from other universities training at this university facilities.

As per university regulations, each hostel has been regularly monitored by an anti-ragging committee nominated by principal.
