Admission Registration Procedure:

A candidate selected for admission shall become an enrolled student of the University only on he shall report at the college on the date fixed by the central admission committee in person which consists of the following steps:

  • Payment of fees
  • Production of the required original documents along with photo copies of the same
  • Three passport size photographs
  • Orientation at the respective colleges
  • Registration for courses at the respective colleges

Selected candidate shall report at the college for his first registration on the date mentioned in the admission memo. A student enrolled in the University will be given his registration number to be used along with his name in all the concerned academic documents.

Fees Structure

For bachelor’s degree courses total fees per annum is Rs. 21,250.00/- for first year admissions for boys in academic year 2022-23. While for girl’s tuition fees of Rs. 7000/- and hostel fees of Rs.3000/- are waived off from total fees.

Admission Eligibility

The candidates to be eligible for admission to this course should have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate examination or its equivalent examination in science stream with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English as compulsory subjects from any recognized Board / University in Gujarat or examinations recognized as equivalent thereto. The minimum requirements of marks to be eligible for application to this course shall be as prescribed in the university prospectus.

The merit is prepared based on marks obtained in “GUJCET only” of the current year.

Details of the Programme

System of Teaching

The minimum duration of degree programme shall be five and half years including compulsory One year internship training after successful completion of entire course work and required co-curricular activities including NCC / NSS. The maximum time limit of the completion of entire coursework of the degree shall be Nine academic years (excluding Internship). A student failing in the annual examination for three consecutive years in a professional year of Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry degree programme shall be finally dropped automatically from the University on account of poor academic performance (except fourth professional year).

First professional year of Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry classes shall commence latest by 1st September of every year. Each professional year shall cover at 210 days of instruction excluding time spent for annual examinations except fourth professional year which consists of 315 instructional days. The exact dates of the year shall be announced through an academic calendar prepared by the University, wherein suitable adjustment shall be made to accommodate Diwali holidays / summer vacation and other holidays.

Academic Requirement

In order to earn his/her B.V.Sc. & A.H. degree of the University, an enrolled student shall have to complete satisfactorily the prescribed number of course credits including those acquired by the approved transfer, and shall have earned an overall grade point average (OGPA) of 5.0 and above.

A course credit means one hour of theory lecture or two hours of laboratory / practical per week and three hours of clinics in VCC/LFC. The course of study includes the following;/p>

  • Core courses
  • NCC / NSS
  • Internship including Entrepreneurial Training

Post-graduate programme

KU offers various postgraduate (PG) degree programs through the constituent and affiliated colleges of the University i.e. Master's Degree Programme of two years (4 semesters) and Doctoral Degree Program of three years (6 semesters) Duration.

The admissions on 75% seats of total intake of PG program are reserved for Gujarat domicile and pass out students of KU/SAUs of Gujarat State/ICAR accredited SAUs of other states. Remaining vacant seats from 75%, if any, may be filled by pass-out students of KU/SAUs of Gujarat and non-domicile of Gujarat State. Rest of the 25% seats of total intake are reserved for students nominated by Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) AIEEA(PG) 2021 & AICE-JRF/SRF(Ph.D.)-2021 for ICAR accredited colleges.

Eligibility for admission

Doctoral Degree

  • Gujarat domicile and pass out students of Gujarat State & ICAR accredited SAUs of other states shall be eligible; further, pass-out students of Gujarat and non-domicile of Gujarat State shall be considered for admission only for the remaining vacant seats.
  • Candidate should have Master's degree in respective subject of Veterinary Science & A.H. for admission to doctoral degree of Gujarat State.
  • A candidate for admission to the Doctoral degree (Ph.D.) program (3 Years or 6 Semesters duration) should have minimum requirement of marks as decided by the university authorities.

Master's Degree

  • Gujarat domicile and pass out students of Gujarat State & ICAR/VCI accredited SAUs of other states shall be eligible; further, pass-out students of Gujarat and non-domicile of Gujarat State shall be considered for admission only for the remaining vacant seats. However, candidates passed out from private Universities/Colleges not approved by State Government and not accredited by ICAR/VCI will not be considered eligible even for entrance test conducted for Common admission for Postgraduate Programs.
  • A candidate for admission to the Master's degree program should have minimum requirement of marks at the Bachelor or degree at UG level as decided by the university authorities.

Admission Procedure

The Registrar KU, Gandhinagar shall give advertisement on website https://www.kamdhenuuniversity.net and key dates for common admission to PG degree program will be displayed on Kamdhenu University website. The interested eligible students, domicile and pass-out from Gujarat State or ICAR/VCI accredited colleges or non- domicile pass-out students from Gujarat State shall submit prescribe fee online and duly filled-in Admission Form and also submit hard copy of the same to “The Registrar KU, Gandhinagar” on or before prescribed last date.

The DR & Dean PGS of KU shall appoint Dean/Principal of the concerned faculty as convener of the scrutiny committee. Thereafter, Convener of the faculty shall constitute a committee at college level for scrutinizing applications for Postgraduate admission and shall submit the list of eligible candidates to the Registrar KU, Gandhinagar for uploading on website https://www.kamdhenuuniversity.net The eligible candidates shall remain present on prescribed date, time and place selected by the applicant for appearing in entrance test for common admission to PG degree programs of KU.

The entrance test shall be offline and question papers shall comprise of 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and duration of examination shall be one hour without any negative marking.

Candidate for the admission shall be selected on the basis of the merit. The cut off marks for eligibility is 45% in the entrance test. The merit list shall be prepared for eligible candidates giving 50:50 weightages to the marks of OGPA (percentage marks) of the last degree and common entrance test. Additionally, the marks of sports/cultural activities shall also be added before preparing the merit list. Separate merit list for Gujarat domicile students pass-out from Gujarat State or ICAR/VCI accredited colleges and non-domicile of Gujarat state students pass-out from Gujarat shall be prepared for each degree/subject.

The candidates shall remain present on prescribed date, time and place communicated by the Kamdhenu University. The aforesaid admission committee shall admit candidates as per his/her merit and availability of seats; however, the admission shall be treated as confirmed on receipt of admission fee at the time of counselling. Therefore, all candidates must come well prepared for the online payment of prescribed fee at the time of counseling. Once the candidates are admitted, one may not be permitted for change of subject/college. The decision of the admission committee shall be final in all respects. Such admitted candidates shall have to report to respective college on prescribed date.

All the postgraduate seats (except ICAR Quota) shall be filled-up from the candidates of Gujarat domicile if any, seats remain vacant for students of Gujarat origin, such vacant seats may be filled up by the candidates of other states and pass-out from Gujarat State.

Seats are reserved for SC/ST/SEBC/ EWS/PWD category as per government rules.
